Greater Palm Springs Barre and Pilates Studio

 

SÅŒL BARRE is a boutique Barre and fitness studio located in Cathedral City, California, in the heart of the Coachella Valley. Inspired by our surroundings, we bring the magic of the desert into our studio atmosphere and classes, where you'll feel the SÅŒL burn inside and out! From our signature high energy Barre classes, to low-impact Pilates, to healing Yoga flows, we have something for everyone. Primarily offering Barre Fitness classes, where you get the best of ALL worlds in one class! So what is it? A mix of ballet-inspired exercises, Pilates, Yoga, low impact cardio, and strength training, Barre is a high intensity full body workout that utilizes a ballet barre and other props set to high energy music. Barre is not a dance class, but you’ll exercise to the beat of the music which makes this class not only effective but fun, too!

 

Classes consist of both standing sections and mat work, targeting one muscle group at a time. With its unique isometric movements, Barre will target deep muscles in a way you’ve never felt before! Barre will help you build whole body strength, flexibility, and endurance, but most of all leave you feeling inspired and accomplished.

Michelle
Owner, Barre & Pilates

Michelle is a 3x certified Barre instructor, certified Mat Pilates instructor, and Barre Fitness Alliance approved instructor with training in the 'Original' Lotte Berk barre method and pre/postnatal training. She is a former dancer, dance instructor, and studio owner with over 15 years of experience teaching barre, dance, and fitness.

 

Michelle was born and raised in Carman, Manitoba, Canada where she also owned her successful dance and barre studios. A life long dancer in jazz, tap, and ballet, Michelle started teaching dance in high school. After moving back to her hometown after college she recognized the need for a dance studio in the small town and followed her dream of opening her first business, Kiddance, at the age of 24. This eventually led her to discovering Barre Fitness and adding her sister company, 'The Carman Barre', the first and only Barre studio in the Pembina Valley, Manitoba. Michelle had the pleasure of introducing hundreds of people to Barre fitness and truly found her calling. In 2019, she moved  to California to live with her husband and golden retrievers.

 

After relocating to the desert and teaching Barre online during the pandemic, Michelle founded FIT BACH in 2022. The pull of opening her own studio again could not be ignored, and now she is excited to bring her passion of Barre to Cathedral City and grow the same small-town feel community she cultivated back home.

Ren
Pilates, PSM, Barre, Dance Cardio

Ren is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition and Wellness Coach. She grew up dancing ballet, modern, and jazz, but her passion for dance broadened after taking samba, hip hop, and Horton classes at Alvin Ailey in NYC. Ren has taught at non-profit organizations, schools, private studios, and led a weekly Dance Cardio class at Equinox Miracle Mile (LA). Since getting her Pilates Mat certification through Equinox in 2019, Ren has incorporated Pilates principles into her 1:1 sessions and group fitness classes to diversify clients’ fitness programs and help them gain core strength, mobility, and fluidity of movement. Last year she added the Pilates Suspension Method (PSM) certification because she loved the inclusivity and accessibility that PSM offers.

 

Ren has over 7 years of fitness and nutrition coaching and holds various certifications, including ISSA Personal Training, ISSA Running, GGS Pre and Post Natal Coaching, Equinox Pilates Mat, Kettlebell L1, Pilates Suspension Method, Animal Flow, and Precision Nutrition. She lives in Coachella Valley with her husband, baby daughter, and two cats - Mambo & Samba. She trains 1:1, teaches group fitness classes, and loves helping people achieve their fitness goals and feel their best.

Susan
Barre, Cardio Barre

Susan is a certified barre and cardio barre instructor. After finding barre as a client in Boston at Exhale Spa & Fitness and falling in love with it she decided to get certified when she moved to the desert in the Fall of 2019. She taught for 5 years at Pure Barre in Palm Desert and found Sol Barre in Fall of 2024. After meeting and chatting with Michelle she decided to join the team and the rest is history. She lives a 10–15-minute walk away and loves the small intimate studio and the incredible mix of clients.
Susan worked in the fashion and special event industries before her barre career began. She’s from the east coast and has lived in New York City, Connecticut, Boston, the Carolina’s and Los Angeles. She’s traveled all over the world for her fashion career including China, Hong Kong, Japan, Paris, London and Amsterdam. She has produced special events in New York City, London, the Hudson Valley, the Berkshires, Palm Springs and many other cities across the U.S.
She has an incredible husband who is an avid supporter of her barre career and has even come to many Bring Your Guy to the Barre classes. He’s a trooper. Susan has an amazing, blended family of 2 sons, 3 stepsons, a grandson and a granddaughter. She also has 2 amazing daughters-in-law’s and 3 wonderful ladies who are partners of her son’s. She’s an avid tennis player and competes for USTA and Desert League teams. She bikes and walks and throws in some pickleball too. She is passionate about fitness and is grateful to live in the desert and have access to so many high-quality options. She loves teaching and introducing new students to the world of Sol Barre and making them feel warm, welcome and comfortable. And she adores her Sol Barre family and the incredibly special environment that Michelle has created. Long Live Sol Barre!

Bianca
Yoga

Bianca is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher and spiritual healer who’s taught and practiced yoga for nearly 20 years. With a focus on breath, alignment and balance, Bianca’s rigorous and fun vinyasa flow yoga teaching style helps students of all levels cultivate strength, awareness and self-love. A meditation on the true meaning of yoga (Sanskrit for “union”), Bianca’s classes help both new and advanced yogis move with more freedom, intention and self-awareness on and off the mat. Bianca is also the EMMY award winning host of Conscious Living®,  a mindful travel show airing on PBS stations nationwide.

Jonica
Barre, Pilates, Yoga, Sculpt

Jonica is a certified fitness instructor specializing in yoga and barre. With a strong foundation in movement and mindfulness, she brings both strength and grace to every class she leads. Before relocating to the Coachella Valley, Jonica was a full-time instructor who also managed fitness studios and facilitated teacher trainings, mentoring and inspiring fellow instructors along the way.

A former competitive dancer, Jonica’s lifelong love for dance shines through in her dynamic barre classes. Her choreography-driven style blends precision, rhythm, and high-energy motivation, creating an experience that is both challenging and uplifting. She is passionate about helping clients build confidence, strength, and body awareness in a supportive group setting.

After moving to the Coachella Valley, Jonica began a new chapter as an elementary school teacher, bringing the same enthusiasm and heart she shows in the studio into the classroom. Whether she’s teaching students at school or clients at the barre, she is dedicated to creating positive, empowering environments where growth can happen.

Outside of work, Jonica enjoys spending time outdoors, making memories at Disneyland, and relaxing at home with her husband and their two cats.

Hannah
Barre

Hannah became a barre instructor in September 2025, stepping into teaching at the very start of her pregnancy—a season that made her passion for movement even more meaningful. Experiencing firsthand how barre strengthens both the body and the mind deepened her belief in its power to support you through every stage of life.

With over eight years as a dedicated barre student and a lifelong background in dance, the studio has always felt like home. Barre is her favorite way to move—blending strength, grace, and that electric feeling of moving to the beat of the music. Nothing lights her up more than a amazing playlist and a room full of students ready to challenge themselves.

Hannah truly believes barre is for every body. Women and men of all ages can benefit from its empowering, energizing approach, and she’s passionate about helping each student feel capable, confident, and strong.

Her goal is simple: she wants every student to leave class feeling inspired, stronger than when they walked in, and proud of what they accomplished. Hannah can’t wait to meet you at the barre!

FROM OUR SÅŒL SISTERS:

A couple of family friends introduced me to Sol Barre with Michelle, 3 months later and I am still OBSESSED!! Michelle is an amazing instructor, she targets arms, legs, abs, buttocks, the works! She keeps things lively and upbeat, and ends every workout with a few calm peaceful minutes of well deserved stretching. I always feel great after every class, not only has it been beneficial for my body but also my mind. It's one of my happy places for sure!
